Scarring & Stretch Marks

Skin

Stretch marks can be common and are often the result of rapid weight loss/gain or pregnancy.

About this condition

Stretch marks happen because the outer layer of the skin grows at such a rate that the inner layer (dermis) can’t keep up. The dermis is where ‘stretchy’ collagen and elastin are produced and if there isn’t enough then marks will appear on the surface of the skin. They can also occur during rapid growth during the teenage years. Areas of the body they tend to appear on most is the stomach, thighs, breasts, buttocks and upper arms. Taking the appearance of red lines initially, stretch marks will often fade to white over time.

Treatments we offer

Laser treatment can significantly reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scarring by removing the outer layer of skin and encouraging new skin to flourish.

Micro-needling also boosts collagen and elasticity regrowth by creating trauma and getting the skin to heal itself.

Finally, chemical peels can also be used to reduce scarring and stretch marks by removing the top layer of skin and encouraging the regrowth of new cells.

At Debora's Beauty Studio, our treatments vary depending on each person and the condition of the skin. Please call and book for a consultation where Debora can assess your skin and advise you on what treatments/packages will be available to suit your needs.
