Micro-needling is a skin rejuvenation technique which uses the skin's own healing mechanisms.
Micro-needling has become a leading beauty treatment across the industry, and the reason for this? It truly works. In short, the tiny needles create a ‘mini trauma’ to the skin that then begins to start the healing process. As a result, the skin produces more collagen and elastin which helps to improve numerous skin issues. These include; stretch marks, scars, acne scarring, skin tone, wrinkles, fine lines, loose skin, large pores and pigmentation.
This very popular anti-ageing treatment is suitable for all skin types and delivers excellent results, renewing the skin cells and rejuvenating the skin’s appearance. As well as being an excellent overall anti-ageing treatment, microneedling can be highly effective in treating a range of conditions including acne scarring, rosacea, wrinkles and fine lines, enlarged pores, sun damage and pigmentation.
This treatment is suitable for almost all skin types, with the depth of needle penetration tailored to each individual patient’s condition and treatment objective. A course of treatments is usually recommended for optimum results.
Microneedling may be recommended for a wide range of skin conditions and as a general anti-ageing treatment. It will not be recommended if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or are being treated for certain skin conditions. This will be discussed with you at your patient consultation.
We use a dermastamp for this treatment, which contains multiple tiny needles. As the device is moved gently across the skin, the needles penetrate the skin’s surface creating multiple tiny wounds and facilitating a natural healing process in the skin’s layers. This in turn stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin beneath the skin.
Some discomfort may be felt but this is usually very mild.
Some swelling, irritation, redness or peeling may occur immediately after treatment but this will usually not last for more than a day or two.
